We're naturally drawn to reaching for our golf dresses in the height of summer but is that really the only time we can wear a dress?

Golf dresses… we love them! And with good reason, they are the perfect grab and go solution for those days when you want to look fabulous with minimum effort. But their appeal doesn’t have to stop there. With a little extra thought they can just as easily be the starting point to many more outfit combinations and they don’t all require the sun to be shining.

It’s common to feel the cold more when our arms are exposed as opposed to our legs so by adding layers, either under or over a dress, you can easily turn up the heat without having to ditch the dress. Take this classic Glenmuir navy and white sleeveless golf dress shown above; by simply slipping it over a coordinating half sleeve polo as shown you can start to build a whole new look.

The addition of a punchy pop of colour such as this gorgeous apricot Glenmuir lightweight knit gives you increased warmth whilst the contrast white tipping detail ties in neatly with the white panelling on the dress to nail that polished, put-together look we all crave.

But what about those greyer days that tip over into autumn? Simply slip your dress over a base-layer and add a thermal mid-layer on top to take care of your upper half, then trade out the modesty shorts from your dress and replace them with your favourite leggings or thicker tights to bring some continental flare to your outfit.
